The SkillsUSA Championships are competitive events showcasing the best career and technical education students in the nation. Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national levels. The competition was held on February 2nd and 3rd at the Agri-Plex in Allentown, and ETI sponsored the Electronics Technology category.
The Electronics Technology contest was divided into five sections: customer service exam, written exam, soldering, breadboarding and troubleshooting. Contestants’ demonstrated their knowledge of analog and digital circuitry; ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits; ability to construct and test experimental circuits; and, ability to design and select circuit components. All aspects of the competition tested contestants’ abilities to use and calibrate electronic equipment, record and organize data, and demonstrate proper safety practices.
Congratulations Thomas L. Bostian for your first place finish in the competition, and good luck on the upcoming state and national ones to follow.
